Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is used to save a diseased or damaged tooth. It can prevent the problems that arise from losing a tooth. Root canal therapy involves multiple appointments where your dentist will remove the existing nerve, cleaning and medicating the canal, then filling it with a rubber material. When properly restored, a root canal therapy can last for many years. Often we recommend a silver molar band be temporarily placed around your tooth to maintain its stability while the root canal is completed by your dentist. Following the completion of your root canal we recommend a crown or permanent restoration to seal and protect the tooth.
